Wednesday, September 15, 2004 8 pm

(North Hollywood, CA) On Wednesday, September 15, the Baked Potato is proud to present on its legendary stage the astonishing singer, songwriter, producer, performer and guitar virtuosa, Stormie M. Graham. She’ll offer a 30-minute selection of music and commentary from her extraordinary performance piece, “ Hello...” (transition) A One-Human Show.

The following week, on Friday and Saturday, September 24 and 25, Stormie will present the entire piece at the beautiful S. Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre. These will be the first complete performances of the show in Los Angeles. The amphitheatre is located at TreePeople’s headquarters in Coldwater Canyon Park – 12601 Mulholland Drive, between Beverly Hills and Studio City. These Taper Amphitheatre shows start at 8 p.m. – please call (323) 876-7822 for more information.

Stormie is an Austin-based electric guitarist and solo performance artist. The music has been described as “jazzy-bluesy-rock ‘n’ roll with a classical-Latin twist.” She has performed to critical acclaim throughout the United States for the past twenty years. The New York Daily News says, “pretty-voiced who manages to inject Hendrix-like leads into acoustic musings.” This unusual style interweaves soaring electric guitar and emotionally charged narrative.

Stormie M. Graham opened herself to music at the age of four, when she began playing the piano. In secondary school she picked up the trumpet and sax. Then, realizing her strong ability and passion for music (not to mention a natural rhythm), she took up the drums as well. But it wasn’t until 1989 that the loan of an electric guitar truly revealed her muse and set Stormie writing.

“Hello...” (transition) A One-Human Show, is a musical vortex into the mind of Stormie M. Graham, one human. It will make you laugh, blink, think hard and maybe even cry. Just listen and watch – you’ll experience the world through a young human's mind. From video segments, to philosophical and political dialogue, to soaring guitar riffs, there’s a lot of creativity on display. This is definitely a performance piece not to be missed.
